Windstar Cruises has opened bookings for its 2028 French Polynesia season, offering sailings aboard both its sailing yacht Wind Star and all-suite motor yacht Star Breeze.

The program builds on the addition of Wind Star to the South Pacific in 2027 and includes itineraries across Tahiti, the Tuamotus, the Marquesas, the Cook Islandand Fiji.

In total, Windstar will operate 14 itineraries and 109 departures in 2028, ranging from its seven-day Dreams of Tahiti sailing to longer voyages that can be combined into extended "Star Collector" journeys.

Both yachts will operate year-round in the region, with Star Breeze accommodating 312 guests and often sailing longer itineraries, while the 148-guest Wind Star focuses on its signature seven-day Dreams of Tahiti itinerary.

An Early Booking Offer is now available through May 31, 2026, giving travellers access to the best fares and stateroom selection.

Additional savings of five per cent are available for guests who pay in full at the time of booking.

Cruise packages can also be paired with air and hotel options from Los Angeles, along with overwater bungalow stays in Moorea and Bora Bora.

"French Polynesia is one of those destinations that feels almost mythical until you experience it for yourself," said Janet Bava, chief commercial officer at Windstar Cruises.

"Our yachts allow guests to explore these islands the way they were meant to be discovered — by sea — with the freedom to easily travel between the islands while connecting with the culture, traditions and natural beauty that make this region so special. Because our ships are small and demand for Tahiti is so strong, booking early is the best way for travelers to secure the sailing and stateroom they really want."

Onboard programming includes cultural experiences led by Tahitian ambassadors, such as ukulele lessons, pareo tying and language classes, along with performances by local musicians and dancers.

Select sailings also feature guest appearances by Tihoti, a Polynesian tattoo master, historian and musician.

Windstar's Destination Discovery Event, Fire & Story in Bora Bora, offers an evening of traditional cuisine, music and fire dancing on a private motu.

Voyages also include destination-focused dining through Windstar's partnership with the James Beard Foundation, along with inclusions such as meals, non-alcoholic beverages, specialty coffees and 24-hour room service.

The Early Booking Offer is available until May 31, 2026, with fares expected to rise as sailings fill.
