Virgin Voyages makes waves in artificial intelligence with J-Lo’s “Jen A.I.”

Never mind ChatGPT. There’s a new form of artificial intelligence sweeping the travel industry, and it’s unfolding at Virgin Voyages.

Richard Branson’s adults-only cruise line has expanded its partnership with singer and actress Jennifer Lopez, who serves as the brand’s Chief Celebrations Officer, with the launch of “Jen A.I.,” which encourages guests to celebrate special dates with custom invites from the celebrity. 

The cruise line has released a humourous video inviting travellers to use the generative tool for their next trip. In it, the singer can be seen sharing a customized message on board before the real identity is revealed. 

While Jennifer can’t call everyone, with a few simple clicks, travellers can create a custom invite from J.Lo, unleashing a whole new level augmented reality.

“It’s so important to me that we stop and take time to celebrate special moments in our lives, and encourage others to do the same. If the last few years have taught us anything, it's how important it is to cherish life's special moments with your inner circle,” said Lopez in a statement.

Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group, noted how “this extraordinary company was founded on the idea of connecting people and celebrating all of life’s special moments.”

After answering a few simple questions, including what they’d like to celebrate, where they’d like to travel and who they want to set sail with, a personalized invite will be emailed to Sailors to share far and wide.

After booking a celebratory getaway, Virgin Voyages will take the hassle out of planning that often accompanies group gatherings.

With the help of the Sailor Services team, guests are able to link their cabin reservations or level up with Virgin Voyages’ “Splash For Your Bash” package.

Encompassing everything for the ultimate soiree – from a bottle of bubbles upon arrival to bottomless brunch at the 1920s inspired steakhouse or a celebratory dinner at Razzle Dazzle – Virgin Voyages is aiming to simplify the planning process so Sailors can enjoy their vacation.

Virgin Voyages currently has three Lady Ships currently sailing around the globe, offering more than 40 itineraries to 100 ports of call.
