Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady begins West Coast sailings, updates wellness program
(Virgin Voyages)

Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady is set to arrive in Los Angeles on April 6, marking the brand’s first ship to homeport on the West Coast.

The adults-only vessel is wrapping up a 16-night repositioning sailing from Miami via the Panama Canal, with prior stops in Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Cabo San Lucas.

The launch signals a new phase for Virgin Voyages as it expands its footprint beyond the Caribbean and Europe.

“The West Coast doesn't need another cruise ship. It needs the right one,” said Nathan Rosenberg, chief marketing officer at Virgin Voyages.

“Brilliant Lady was built for people who treat their body, their time and their experiences as serious investments. They want movement and ritual alongside the best night out they've ever had at sea. The West Coast has always had a deep affinity for the Virgin brand and its values, so this feels like a homecoming moment for us.”

New programming focused on wellness

For its West Coast season, Brilliant Lady is introducing updated wellness and fitness programming designed around lifestyle trends in California.

Radiance, a new morning experience held several times per voyage, combines breathwork, stretching and guided movement sessions set to music through wireless headphones.

The ship is also launching eight themed “Vibe Rides” in its onboard cycle studio.

Each 45-minute session features curated playlists and themes, ranging from “Sunset Cycle” to “Celebrity Bootcamp,” with classes included in the cruise fare.

A refreshed wellness bar, Juice Sea, has also been expanded.

Offerings include cold-pressed juices, wellness shots and a new protein smoothie menu tailored to different fitness goals, with nutritional details provided for each option.

West Coast itineraries begin in April

The ship’s West Coast season opens with a five-night “LA MerMaiden” sailing from April 7 to 12, calling at Santa Barbara, San Diego and Ensenada.

Additional itineraries from Los Angeles will run through May, ranging from five to eight nights along the California coast, with stops including Catalina Island and San Francisco.

Following the L.A. season, Brilliant Lady will reposition to Seattle for Virgin Voyages’ first Alaska sailings, beginning May 21.
