Star Clippers adds 27 new Mediterranean ports for 2027-28 season

Star Clippers is expanding its Mediterranean deployment for the 2027-28 season with the addition of 27 new ports of call across Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Southern Italy and the Adriatic.

The tall ship cruise line said the expanded program builds on recent itinerary innovations while continuing to offer sailings in the Caribbean and Central America.

To mark the launch, Star Clippers is offering savings of up to 65 per cent on all sailings, along with up to US$500 in onboard credit per cabin and a complimentary bottle of champagne on select departures booked by Sept. 30, 2026.

The complete 2027-2028 sailing collection is now available.

The new program continues the company's focus on using its sailing ships to access destinations that are often beyond the reach of larger cruise vessels. That approach recently made Star Clippers the first major cruise line to call at Barletta, Italy, highlighting its strategy of introducing guests to lesser-known ports.

"At Star Clippers, our guests consistently tell us they want to discover places beyond the traditional cruise circuit," said Terri Haas, VP of sales & marketing, Americas, for Star Clippers, in a press release.

"The addition of 27 new ports of call reflects our commitment to taking travelers beyond the Mediterranean's best-known destinations while preserving the authentic sailing experience that defines Star Clippers."

New destinations to explore

The expanded Greek program includes new calls at Skiros, Skopelos, Karpathos and Astypalea, offering guests opportunities to experience traditional island life, historic sites and local tavernas beyond the country's best-known destinations.

Türkiye also features prominently in the new deployment with additions including Çeşme, Datça, Fethiye, Kas and Kekova.

Along the Adriatic, Star Clippers has added Korčula, Komiža, Trogir and Šibenik, while Southern Italy gains new calls at Monopoli and Crotone.

The cruise line says the destinations showcase medieval waterfront towns, UNESCO-recognized heritage sites and regional culinary traditions that remain largely untouched by mass tourism.

Among the featured itineraries is the seven-night Eternal Cyclades voyage aboard Star Flyer, which visits Milos, Santorini, Amorgos and Hydra, with fares starting at US$2,500 (approximately C$3,070) per person, based on double occupancy.

Also aboard Star Flyer, the new Authentic Greek Escape itinerary focuses on lesser-known islands including Astypalea and Sifnos, with fares also beginning at US$2,500 (approximately C$3,070) per person.

Meanwhile, the Italian Gems itinerary aboard Star Clipper highlights Southern Italy with stops in emerging ports such as Termini Imerese and Vibo Marina alongside destinations including Lipari, Sorrento and Ponza. Fares start at US$3,350 (approximately C$4,810) per person.

Outside the Mediterranean, Star Clippers will continue offering longer itineraries in the Southern Caribbean, featuring ports such as Carriacou, Canouan, Mayreau and Tobago, while Central America sailings include destinations such as Coiba National Park, Marine Park Golfo de Chiriquí, Quepos and Panama's Pearl Islands.
