SeaDream unveils third yacht with Canada, Great Lakes voyages planned

SeaDream Yacht Club has announced SeaDream III, the first new yacht to join its fleet in the company’s 25-year history, with a July 2029 debut and itineraries that will include Canada and the Great Lakes.

Reservations opened Sept. 1 for the yacht’s inaugural voyages. 

During its first 24 months, SeaDream III is scheduled to visit six continents, 73 countries and 364 ports.

“SeaDream III represents the next chapter for SeaDream,” said Atle Brynestad, founder and owner of SeaDream Yacht Club. 

“She will carry forward the same DNA as SeaDream I and SeaDream II: personalized service, exceptional cuisine, a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and the genuine feeling of being on your own yacht. With SeaDream III, the whole world becomes our destination.”

Expanded accommodations

Measuring approximately 151 metres, or 495 feet, SeaDream III will accommodate around 200 guests, with a crew of nearly equal number.

Accommodations will span five decks, with a greater selection of suites, Commodore staterooms and connecting configurations. 

Private balconies will be available across four guest decks, while larger suites and staterooms will offer additional space for both individual voyages and extended journeys.

The yacht will feature open-air upper decks, a dedicated pool deck and indoor and al fresco spaces for dining and gathering. 

Three watersports marinas will provide direct access to the sea.

Spa, fitness and wellness facilities will also be expanded. 

The onboard experience will retain SeaDream’s approach to personalized dining and a relaxed atmosphere without formal evenings.

“SeaDream has never been about size for its own sake,” Brynestad said.

"Our focus is creating fantastic days and unforgettable experiences for every guest. SeaDream III gives us the opportunity to bring that experience to more places around the world.”

Asia debut in July 2029

SeaDream III will depart Hong Kong on its maiden voyage on July 10, 2029, sailing through the Ryukyu Islands and along Japan’s Pacific coast. 

Its official christening is scheduled for July 21 in Tokyo.

The maiden itinerary includes extended stays in Ishigaki and Yakushima, plus calls in Okinawa, Amami Oshima, Kochi and Shimizu.

The inaugural season will continue with four 14-night round-trip voyages from Tokyo combining northern and western Japan with South Korea.

 A 15-night voyage from Tokyo to Hong Kong will follow, travelling through Japan’s southern islands.

Ports and highlights include Hakodate, Aomori, Akita, Kanazawa, Hiroshima, Kobe and Osaka, along with Mount Fuji views from Shimizu and Tagonoura. 

Voyages will also visit Japan’s Inland Sea, Busan and Jeju.

Following its Japan season, SeaDream III will sail to Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. 

Destinations will include Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Bali, Komodo, the Great Barrier Reef and Tasmania, with a New Year’s celebration planned in Sydney.

“SeaDream III has been designed not only to travel farther, but to bring guests closer to the places she visits,” said Brynestad. 

“Her size will allow her to reach distinctive harbors and sail globally while maintaining the highly personalized experience our guests expect. This deployment reflects the spirit of SeaDream: unhurried exploration, exceptional service and access to places best experienced by yacht.”

Canada and Great Lakes in 2030

In 2030, SeaDream III will sail west from Asia to India, the Arabian Peninsula and the Mediterranean before arriving in London. 

It will then visit the British Isles, the Baltic, coastal Norway, Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland.

The yacht will cross the North Atlantic to Canada, continuing through the St. Lawrence and into the Great Lakes.

Voyages will include Montreal, Chicago, Toronto and Detroit, with calls throughout Georgian Bay, Lake Superior, the Niagara Peninsula, Prince Edward County and the St. Lawrence.

SeaDream III will then travel along the American East Coast to West Palm Beach before beginning voyages to the Caribbean, Central America, Colombia’s Caribbean coast and Panama.

The company also plans yacht showcases in cities including Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Auckland, Sydney, Mumbai, London, Oslo, Boston and West Palm Beach.

180-night world voyage

On Jan. 5, 2031, SeaDream III will depart West Palm Beach on a 180-night world voyage ending in London.

After transiting the Panama Canal, the yacht will follow South America’s Pacific coast through Ecuador, Peru and Chile.

It will then visit Easter Island, French Polynesia, the Cook Islands, Niue, Tonga, Fiji and Vanuatu before continuing to Australia, Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

The itinerary will proceed to Sri Lanka, the Maldives, India and the Arabian Peninsula, followed by Egypt, Jordan and a Suez Canal transit. 

The voyage will conclude with Mediterranean and European Atlantic coast destinations, arriving in London on July 5, 2031.
