Riviera reports "best month" for North American bookings, notes 200% increase

Buoyed by Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, Riviera River Cruises says it recorded its best month in November for North American bookings since entering the market more than five years ago. 

Bookings from Black Friday, Nov. 24, through Cyber Monday, Nov. 27, increased 200 per cent over 2022, in large part thanks to a $500 per person discount on 2024 and 2025 European river cruises of eight days or more. 

“Our record bookings last month are a testament to how well received Riviera has been in this market – even with tremendous competition among river cruise lines,” said Marilyn Conroy, executive vice-president sales and marketing North America for Riviera River Cruises. “Positive feedback from our agency partners and returning guests is helping to spread the word about the value we offer. And with our November incentives continuing through this month, travel advisors should encourage their clients to book while they’re still available.”

Discount + FAM

Riviera’s $500 per person discount is available on many 2024 and 2025 river cruises, from popular itineraries like the Blue Danube, the Rhine Cruise to Switzerland and exclusive departures for solo travellers to new offerings like 11-day cruises, a new ship and itinerary on the Douro River, and themed cruises.

Details of the discount:

• The $500 per person discount is valid on new bookings of 2024 or 2025 departures from eight to 15 days.
• Applies to bookings made through Dec. 31, 2023.
• Excludes single-occupancy cabins, group bookings and yacht cruises, and can’t be combined with other offers.

Details of the FAM cabin incentive:

• Travel advisors who make two new bookings of eight-day cruises departing in 2025 through Dec. 31, 2023, will earn a free FAM cabin, normally $499 per person.
• Free FAM cabins are available to travel advisors and a companion sharing a standard cabin on any cruise up to eight days in 2024.
• FAM cabin reservations made on a space-available basis, with the deck to be determined by Riviera River Cruises, up to 90 days before departure.
• Only one free FAM cabin permitted per advisor.
• Can’t be combined with other offers.

Riviera River Cruises offers a total of 22 itineraries on 10 European rivers and waterways throughout the year. 

The discount, as well as a FAM cabin incentive, are available through December.
