Oceania opens Aurelia’s 2028 world cruise to shorter sailings
Oceania Cruises is giving travellers more ways to experience Oceania Aurelia’s inaugural world cruise, opening 12 individual segments of the ship’s 180-day Around the World voyage for sale.
The shorter sailings, ranging from 10 to 19 days, offer portions of the global itinerary, which departs Miami in January 2028 and spans six continents.
Options include an 18-day sailing from Los Angeles to Papeete, a two-week voyage from Sydney to Bali and a 12-day itinerary from Taipei to Tokyo.
“Oceania Aurelia was designed for travellers who want to explore the world in comfortable elegance - where space, warmth and personalized care allow them to fully relax and enjoy the journey on a ship that truly feels like home,” said Jason Montague, chief luxury officer of Oceania, in a release. “Whether tracing the atolls of the South Pacific or threading through ports of the Mediterranean, these 12 segments give the opportunity to experience a chapter of Oceania Aurelia’s remarkable 180-day global journey.”
Across the full 180-day voyage, Oceania Aurelia will visit destinations on six continents, with overnight stays in Papeete, Bora Bora, Sydney, Bali, Tokyo, Bangkok and Mumbai.
Thousands of small-group shore excursions will be available, focusing on local culture, cuisine and heritage. Nearly 100 UNESCO World Heritage sites will also be within reach during the complete world cruise.
Among the newly available segments is Two Oceans Odyssey, a 17-day voyage from Miami to Los Angeles departing Jan. 19, 2028. The sailing travels through the Panama Canal and visits Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Mexico.
South Pacific Serenade departs Papeete on Feb. 23 for a 19-day voyage to Sydney, visiting destinations including Bora Bora, Pago Pago, Vava’u, Lautoka, Port Vila and Noumea.
In Asia, the 14-day Isles of the Orient voyage sails from Bali to Taipei on March 27, with calls in Jakarta, Singapore, Puerto Princesa, Coron, Manila, Salomague and Hualien.
The 12-day Pearls of East Asia departs Taipei on April 10 for Tokyo, incorporating South Korea and Japan with stops including Busan, Kagoshima, Nagasaki, Kochi and Osaka.
Another 12-day option, Treasures of Southeast Asia, sails from Hong Kong to Bangkok on May 2. The itinerary travels through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, calling at Hanoi (Ha Long Bay), Ho Chi Minh City, Sihanoukville and Ko Kood.
