Norwegian refreshes Jade & Gem with adults-only spaces, expanded wellness

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has completed upgrades to two of its ships, Norwegian Jade and Norwegian Gem, introducing new adults-only spaces, expanded wellness facilities and additional amenities as the line continues to standardize popular features across its fleet.

Among the highlights are the debut of the adults-only Vibe Beach Club on both ships and redesigned Thermal Suites within the Mandara Spa & Salon.

“Listening to our guests and delivering exceptional experiences across our fleet is at the heart of what we do,” said Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line, in a press release.

“These recent transformations bring some of our most beloved amenities to Norwegian Jade and Norwegian Gem, creating greater consistency across our fleet while giving guests more ways to personalize their vacation — from adults-only outdoor spaces to serene relaxation areas designed to help them unwind at sea.”

Expanded wellness experiences

The renovated Thermal Suites aboard both ships now feature three times as many hot tile loungers, a redesigned layout with an upgraded reception area, and refreshed steam rooms and saunas.

New wellness experiences include a Charcoal Sauna, Ice Room, Salt Room, IV Lounge and Four-Senses Loungers.

Norwegian Jade also adds “experiential showers” with multiple water jets and lighting effects, along with a plunge pool designed for cold-water immersion.

Norwegian Gem, meanwhile, now features an updated hot tub and Thalassotherapy pool equipped with massage jets, bubble loungers and countercurrents.

Vibe Beach Club added to both ships

NCL has also introduced its popular adults-only Vibe Beach Club aboard both vessels by transforming the existing sundeck on Deck 14.

The outdoor retreat features panoramic ocean views, a private full-service bar, an additional hot tub, more than 50 premium lounge chairs and seven private cabanas available for guests seeking a quieter onboard experience.

Norwegian Jade has also gained a licensed Starbucks location, allowing guests to purchase the coffee chain's signature beverages, seasonal drinks and food items. NCL notes that it was the first cruise line to offer Starbucks across its entire fleet and private destinations.

Summer deployments

Through late summer 2026, Norwegian Jade is operating seven-day Alaska cruises between Vancouver and Whittier (Anchorage), featuring scenic cruising through the Inside Passage and glacier regions, with calls in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Icy Strait Point.

Norwegian Gem is sailing Mediterranean and Greek Isles itineraries from Rome (Civitavecchia) and Venice (Ravenna), visiting ports including Cannes, Livorno, Split, Dubrovnik and several Greek islands.

Later this year, Norwegian Gem will reposition to Tampa for Caribbean and Bahamas cruises, while Norwegian Jade will return to Asia for a series of sailings.
