Norwegian cancels months of sailings on four ships
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has cancelled several months of sailings, affecting four of its ships.
Between November 2026 and March 2027, Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Dawn will swap homeports and launch adjusted itineraries, the company confirmed in an email to USA Today.
According to the cruise line, Norwegian Gem will depart from Tampa, Florida, on Caribbean and Bahamas voyages ranging from four to 11 nights, giving travellers more variety. Meanwhile, Norwegian Dawn will operate shorter Bahamas sailings from Jacksonville, Florida.
Both ships will also visit the line’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay, more frequently. The destination is undergoing a series of enhancements, including a new waterpark scheduled to debut in summer 2026.
NCL has also canceled select voyages on Norwegian Getaway scheduled for November and December 2026, as well as on Norwegian Joy in December 2026, due to what it described as "port availability."
In their place, the line plans to introduce updated itineraries offering longer, more in-depth cruises to the Caribbean and Bahamas over the holiday season.
According to the company, the new sailings will be available for booking soon.
Impacted guests will receive a full refund of the fare they paid, along with a 10 per cent future cruise credit.
