Ninth annual Tee Off For Tiny Tots a success
Supporters from the travel industry & beyond took part in the ninth-annual Tee Off for Tiny Tots golf tournament yesterday, hosted by the Canada-Southern Africa Chamber of Business and TOPAC (Tour Operators Promoting Africa in Canada).
All proceeds from the event will be donated to African Pre-Schools Society, a registered Canadian charity, which supports two pre-schools in South Africa including The Mazinyane Preschool near Kruger National Park and the ‘Sunshine’ project in Mbazwana, KwaZulu Natal. Electricity and running water are now in place and building/renovating kitchens on the properties is underway. In addition to pre-school classes, each child receives a cold breakfast, hot lunch and a snack to take home.
Tee Off for Tiny Tots has raised more than $120,000 since inception.
The day started out with a buffet barbeque lunch and ended with dinner and raffle, with a grand prize of two tickets to South Africa with South African Airways. A lucky winner also went home with two tickets to anywhere Air Canada rouge flies.
The evening's master of ceremonies, Firdosh Bulsara, offered his gratitude to all sponsors and participants.
