NCL opens new pool area and guest experiences at Great Stirrup Cay

Norwegian Cruise Line has opened new enhancements at Great Stirrup Cay, its private island in the Bahamas, including a 1.4-acre pool area featuring a heated pool, Splash Harbor splash pad, and Vibe Shore Club adults-only area.

The Great Life Lagoon pool area is larger than two Olympic-sized pools combined and features a beach-style entrance leading to a splash area with water features. 

The pool includes two swim-up bars and is surrounded by private cabanas. 

The new Vibe Shore Club offers an adults-only retreat with private cabanas and a private bar, accessible by all-day pass.

"Great Stirrup Cay has always been a favorite for our guests, and these new enhancements make it even easier for guests to trade the winter weather for the warm tropics and enjoy an 'Escape to the Great Life,'" said Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. 

"With the fun versatility of Great Life Lagoon, and family-friendly spots like Splash Harbor, we've created an island where everyone can unwind, play and make lasting memories."

Additional enhancements include Splash Harbor, a complimentary kids splash pad, a new Welcome Center, a new pier and a tram system.

Norwegian Cruise Line will continue the island expansion with the debut of Great Tides Waterpark in summer 2026. 

The waterpark will feature 19 waterslides, including Tidal Tower with eight slides and the park's two tallest slides. 

Additional attractions include a nearly 800-foot dynamic river, a 9,000-square-foot splash zone, and Cliffside Cove featuring the industry's first cliffside jumps and racer slides.

Norwegian Cruise Line expects to welcome over one million guests to Great Stirrup Cay across 17 ships in 2026, including visits from Norwegian Aqua, which offers seven-day Caribbean voyages from Miami and Orlando (Port Canaveral), Fla., through October 2027. 

Norwegian Luna will debut in March 2026 and will sail seven-day Caribbean itineraries from April 2026 through October 2026.
