Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has new and enhanced offerings for individuals who give back to their community – including its first-ever first responder discount.

The cruise line is honouring military members, teachers and first responders with special discounts on cruise vacations.

Just in time for the summer travel season, NCL is introducing a five per cent year‑round discount for first responders, complementing its existing community programs, including the Military Appreciation Program and Teacher Cruise Discount.

These exclusive community deals, combined with the current promotion of 50 per cent off all cruises, make it easier than ever for them to get away.

“Every day, first responders, teachers and members of the military put others first,” said Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line, in a press release. “We’re proud to honor them with these new and enhanced deals, so they can enjoy the kind of vacation they truly deserve.”

Honouring first responders

NCL’s brand-new discount for first responders applies to both the United States and Canada.

Law enforcement, firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and more can now enjoy a five per cent discount off the voyage fare on all cruises, or for a limited time, opt for 15 per cent off select sailings.

The discounts are applicable to both active and retired first responders.

Norwegian's private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay, was recently enhanced to feature an expansive pool area and will debut the new Great Tides Waterpark this summer.

Celebrating military & teachers in May

NCL’s year-round Military Appreciation Program honours veteran and active military members in the United States and Canada with a special military reception onboard, exclusive challenge coins as well as a 10 per cent discount off voyage fares.

In recognition of Military Appreciation Month in May, Norwegian has expanded the program’s perks to offer 20 per cent off voyage fare on select sailings for a limited time.

Additionally, for the first time ever, military guests on these select voyages can extend their 20 per cent discount to non-military travel companions sailing with them in separate staterooms, making it easier for friends and family to vacation together.

With the school year coming to an end, and to commemorate Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4 to May 8, 2026), NCL recognized educators in the United States and Canada with up to $100 onboard credit for bookings made that week, which was combinable with the year-round Teacher Cruise Discount of five per cent off voyage fare.

NCL’s popular Free at SeaTM package, which is combinable with all offers, provides over $2,000 in savings on guest-favourite amenities including unlimited open bar, specialty dining, Wi‑Fi and shore excursion credits.
