Holland America Line opens 2028 bookings with strong focus on Montréal
Holland America Line has opened bookings for its 2028 Canada & New England season, running from May through October aboard Volendam and Zuiderdam.
The cruise line says it will offer more Montréal calls than any other cruise operator, with seven- to 14-day itineraries, as well as longer Collectors’ Voyages, sailing to or from Montréal, Québec City, Boston, New York and Fort Lauderdale.
The announcement follows PAX’s recent visit aboard Holland America Line’s Volendam in Montréal, during the ship’s final call of the season in the city.
The visit offered a first-hand look at one of the two vessels scheduled to return to the Canada & New England region in 2028, as well as at the onboard experience Holland America Line offers along the St. Lawrence River and throughout Atlantic Canada.
The 2028 program will showcase historic cities, maritime landscapes and coastal communities across Atlantic Canada and New England.
Select cruises will sail from Montréal, include overnight stays in Québec City, and feature late-night calls in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and Saint John, New Brunswick.
Volendam will operate several itineraries between Montréal, Québec City, Boston and New York. Highlights include a nine-day Montréal-to-New York sailing departing September 30, 2028; a 10-day Montréal-to-Boston voyage via Newfoundland departing June 7; and two 11-day roundtrip Montréal itineraries departing May 27 and August 29.
The ship will also sail a 14-day Fort Lauderdale-to-Montréal itinerary departing May 13, 2028. Its ports of call include Norfolk, Boston, Portland, Halifax, Sydney, Prince Edward Island, Québec City and Saguenay.
Meanwhile, Zuiderdam will make its Canada & New England debut following Holland America Line’s “Evolution” transformation.
The cruise line describes the refurbishment as its largest fleet investment to date, introducing purpose-built Solo Verandah staterooms, panoramic forward-facing Bridgeview Suites and the Grand Dutch Café. Zuiderdam will notably operate a 14-day Québec City-to-Fort Lauderdale sailing departing October 14, 2028.
Holland America Line also emphasizes that its smaller ships can access waterways and ports that may be unavailable to larger vessels. The season will highlight five national parks, seven UNESCO World Heritage sites, whale watching in the Saguenay Fjord and Atlantic Canada, and Newfoundland’s dramatic coastline, where guests may spot puffins.
On board, the line plans to extend the destination experience through regional menus, Atlantic seafood, local musical performances and programming focused on the culture and traditions of Canada and New England.
For a limited time, your clients’ reservations on select 2028 Canada & New England cruises may qualify for Holland America Line’s Have It All Early Booking Bonus.
The promotion includes shore-excursion credit, specialty dining, an Elite Beverage Package, premium Wi‑Fi and prepaid Crew Appreciation, subject to availability and applicable terms and conditions.
