Guest injured after water slide incident aboard Icon of the Seas

A guest was injured on board Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas after a section of a water slide reportedly detached mid-ride.

The incident occurred Thursday when an acrylic panel on one of the ship’s slides came loose while in use. 

The adult guest sustained injuries and received medical care on board. The individual’s condition is reported to be stable.

The affected slide has been closed for the remainder of the sailing while an investigation is underway. 

Royal Caribbean has not yet disclosed the extent of the guest’s injuries or provided additional details.
