Frank A. Del Rio to exit Oceania Cruises

Frank A. Del Rio is leaving Oceania Cruises, effective immediately, after two years as president, according to a new report.

The move comes one day after Jason Montague officially took the reins at Oceania and Regent Seven Seas Cruises as Norwegian Cruise Lines Holdings’ Chief Luxury Officer.

The update was first reported by Seatrade Cruise News. It, notably, marks the first time since Oceania’s founding in 2003 that there will be no family member involved. (Frank A. Del Rio is the son of Oceania’s founder Frank Del Rio).

Montague's association with Oceania goes as far back as writing business plans for the brand with the Del Rio family, Seatrade points out.

He has served as president and COO of Oceania and Regent, and most recently was president/CEO of Regent until January 2023.

“Both Frank and his father, our company’s founder, have left an enduring legacy on Oceania Cruises and the broader industry,” Montague said in a message to travel partners on Tuesday. “I want to personally thank Frank for his outstanding stewardship of the brand, positioning it for an incredibly bright future, and for assembling an exceptional leadership team. We wish him all the best in his next chapter.”
