Explora opens bookings for 2027 Monaco Grand Prix aboard EXPLORA I

Explora Journeys has opened reservations for its 2027 FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX DE MONACO experience aboard EXPLORA I, marking the luxury cruise line’s third consecutive year in Port Hercule for the prestigious race weekend.

From June 2-7, 2027, EXPLORA I will be positioned just 150 metres from the circuit, giving guests convenient access to the action while serving as a private retreat throughout the event.

Reservations are now available for suite-only stays, as well as suites paired with three-day Grandstand access.

Suites featuring three-day Paddock Club hospitality are expected to be released soon, with the package set to include gourmet dining, pit lane walks and appearances by Formula 1 legends.

“Monaco has become an important part of the Explora Journeys story,” said Anna Nash, president of Explora Journeys, in a statement. “Being in the heart of Port Hercule for Formula 1 - one of the world’s most celebrated events - allows us to bring together so much of what our guests value, privileged access, exceptional gastronomy and hospitality, and a seamless way to experience the very best of the race weekend.

“Returning for a third consecutive year reflects both the success of this experience and our ambition to continue going beyond the traditional ocean journey.”

A front-row base in Monaco

EXPLORA I will be the only ship of its kind docked in Port Hercule throughout the race weekend.

Guests will have access to oceanfront suites with private terraces, six restaurants, 12 bars and lounges, premium beverages, spa and fitness facilities and exclusive Formula 1 experiences and onboard events.

The ship's location will allow guests to move between the atmosphere of the circuit and the quieter surroundings onboard throughout the weekend.

Explora Journeys has previously used its Monaco stays to host a range of special events and guests. The 2025 and 2026 editions welcomed motorsport figures Sir Jackie Stewart, Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard aboard.

The ship also hosted the official Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2026 Opening Party and the Vanity Fair Club in 2025. Details of Explora Journeys' 2027 onboard program will be announced at a later date.

Extend the Grand Prix getaway

Travellers can also incorporate the Monaco weekend into a longer Mediterranean sailing.

Options include a Rome-to-Monaco Journey from May 24 to June 7 or a Monaco-to-Barcelona itinerary from June 2 to 14. Guests can also combine the two for a Rome-to-Barcelona Journey running from May 24 to June 14.

Reservations for suite-only stays and packages featuring three-day Grandstand access are now open.
