Emerald Azzurra to visit Saudi Arabia during inaugural season; 2 voyages unveiled

With the launch of its first oceangoing yacht, Emerald Azzurra, quickly approaching, Emerald Cruises has unveiled two brand-new itineraries for her 2022 inaugural season.

Both itineraries will sail the Red Sea and take guests to Saudi Arabia, a new and exciting country on Emerald Cruises’ growing list of destinations. 

Both new itineraries offer guests an ideal balance of checking off bucket list spots like the Great Pyramids of Giza, ancient Petra and the Suez Canal with discovering novel, lesser-explored ports waiting to surprise and delight.

Emerald Cruises is also offering a bonus included Premium Drinks Package for bookings made by August 31, 2021. 

In addition, guests can choose to pay their balance in full at the time of booking and take advantage of a Super Earlybird savings up to 25% off selected cabins.

The new, 10-day Mysteries & Treasures of the Red Sea and Saudi Arabia itinerary will sail between Limassol, Cyprus, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with ports of call in Egypt and Jordan. 

The port city of Jeddah is the second largest city in Saudi Arabia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for being a gateway for pilgrims travelling to Mecca and Medina. 

The longer 12-day Ancient Wonders of the Red Sea and Mythical Greece itinerary sails between Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Athens, Greece, calling on Al Wahj, Duba, Aqaba and Sharm-el Sheik, as well as Ain Sokhna, the nearest beach resort to Cairo, Crete, Santorini and Athens. 

Highlights include a glass bottom boat trip at Naama Bay in Sharm El-Sheikh, a traditional Felucca cruise on the Nile with a visit to the Great Pyramids of Giza, a walking tour of picturesque Agios Nikolaos, Greece and a day of soaking up the sun in Santorini. Prices for this 12-day voyage start from $6,255 per person, departing March 18, 2022.

Emerald's first "superyacht"

Launching in January 2022, Emerald Azzurra is the first custom-built ocean superyacht from Emerald Cruises offering a luxury cruising experience to small ports and harbours only accessible by small ships. 

The superyacht will carry a small group of just 100 guests, spread across 50 deluxe suites and staterooms, with the majority of cabins having access to private balconies. 

Emerald Azzurra will feature a variety of areas to in which to dine and relax, including the Sky Deck with its Spa Pool, and on the Wellness Deck find a spa, gym, sauna and hairdressers. 

The superyacht’s marina platform is designed for easy access to enjoy snorkelling, paddle boarding and swimming during swim-stops – just some of the many activities included.
