Cunard announces makeover for Queen Victoria ahead of 2027 season

Cunard is giving its Queen Victoria ship a significant refresh this fall, with plans to revitalize many of its signature spaces, upgrade its luxury accommodations and introduce its popular wellness dining concept.

The 2,000-guest vessel will enter dry dock at Damen Shiprepair in Rotterdam from Oct. 17 to Nov. 5, 2026, before returning to service on Nov. 7 for the remainder of its 2026 sailings and its 2027 deployment.

Among the most noticeable changes will be updates to the ship's Grand Lobby and the iconic Queens Room, which will be redesigned while maintaining the classic British elegance for which the ship is known. Cunard said the Queens Room will continue to host its signature Afternoon Tea, live music and Gala Evenings

The line is also enhancing its premium Queens Grill and Princess Grill suites with new furnishings, upgraded finishes and refreshed interiors designed to elevate the luxury experience.

Guests will also have more accommodation options, with eight additional Britannia staterooms being added. These include three new Britannia Deluxe Oceanview cabins featuring floor-to-ceiling windows. The new stateroom category goes on sale beginning July 20 for voyages departing from Nov. 11, 2026.

Another major addition is The Pavilion Wellness Café, which will debut aboard Queen Victoria following successful launches on Queen Anne in 2024 and Queen Elizabeth in 2025.

The wellness-focused venue will serve breakfast, lunch and daytime dining, offering a menu centred on plant-based cuisine alongside sustainably sourced meat, fish and dairy.

"Queen Victoria has always held a special place in the hearts of our guests, celebrated for her distinctive character, intimate spaces and unmistakable sense of British elegance,” said Katie McAlister, president of Cunard, in a press release.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to refine the experiences and spaces she offers, with every decision approached with deep respect for the heritage and charm that make her who she is. From the Grand Lobby to the Queens Room, every detail has been thoughtfully considered to ensure Queen Victoria continues to deliver the timeless luxury she is known and loved for. We can't wait to welcome guests back on board to experience these beautiful enhancements for themselves."

Following the refurbishment, Queen Victoria will sail Cunard's 2027 program, offering itineraries throughout the Mediterranean, the Norwegian Fjords, the Canary Islands and other destinations.
