Ctrip.com eyes Canadian expansion with Amadeus partnership
Amadeus has announced the signing of an agreement with China’s Ctrip.com International to power its international expansion, with future plans to move into the Canadian market.
The multi-year agreement with Ctrip, China’s leading travel company in terms of market capitalization, will include the provision of all air content for points of sale outside of mainland China. This initially includes Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and the U.S., with future plans to move into Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Thailand, as well as additional markets, said a release from Amadeus.
Ctrip will implement Amadeus Master Pricer TravelBoard (including multi-merchant capability) as their low-fare search engine, as well as Amadeus Mini Rules and Amadeus Ticket Changer, with the aim to adopt more of Amadeus’ powerful online search solutions in the near future.
