Crystal reveals name of next ocean ship – its first new build in 25 years

Crystal has announced the name of its next ocean ship: Crystal Grace. 

It’s the company’s first new build in 25 years and the first under the ownership of Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group (AKTG).

The ship is scheduled for delivery in May 2028 and will begin sailing on June 11, 2028, after a series of preview voyages. 

Crystal Grace will be a 650-passenger, 61,800-gross-ton vessel and marks the next phase in the company’s fleet development.

Ahead of the reveal, Crystal ran a digital word game across its social channels inviting fans to guess the ship’s name.

Crystal Grace is the embodiment of why we were awarded the World’s Best Cruise Line by Travel + Leisure, combining the best food, service, space, entertainment and shore experiences (by Abercrombie & Kent)," said Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group.

"With this ship, we are honouring our heritage while continuing to evolve for a new generation of guests."

Crystal says the name was selected to reflect the ship’s design approach and its focus on a seamless onboard experience. 

Crystal Grace will feature all-suite accommodations, entertainment venues and several dining concepts, including Umi Uma (the only Nobu restaurant at sea), Beefbar and menus created by the Alajmo brothers at Osteria d’Ovidio. 

A full-perimeter promenade deck will also be included.

The line says the ship will continue to offer one of the highest crew-to-passenger ratios in the segment. 

On land, Abercrombie & Kent will curate excursions and events through its global network of destination management companies.

Details on suite categories will be released in December. 

Information about inaugural voyages, design elements and new onboard offerings will be shared in the coming months. 

Crystal Grace’s 2028 season is expected to go on sale in April 2026, with a waitlist opening soon.
