Crystal Cruises provides Serenity redesign updates

Crystal Cruises has announced details of the forthcoming redesign of Crystal Serenity, with the ship set to undergo a three-week refurbishment this October before emerging on Nov. 10, 2018.

A press briefing at Seatrade Cruise Global, Ft. Lauderdale, saw the cruise line reveal images and further information about the dry dock, with the refurbishment aimed at expanding the onboard space and choices available to guests by transforming accommodation, dining options, technological advancements and public spaces.

The redesign will see 36 new Penthouses and two new Penthouse Suites in place of verandah staterooms on Penthouse Deck 10, with the ship’s capacity set to reduce from 1,070 guests to 980. The number of onboard crew will remain the same.

Opean seating dining will also be featured aboard the ship as a result of the refurbishment, with new venues to include the Waterside restaurant, the Marketplace and Churrascaria, and Silk Kitchen & Bar. The Palm Court public space will undergo a transformation with more intimate seating, while the lounge is set to receive new finishes, carpeting and more tables for two.

“Our ocean vessels are at the heart of the Crystal brand and represent the pillars of our company that our guests have embraced for more than 27 years,” said Crystal’s president and CEO, Tom Wolber. “We will continue to invest in their success with an eye to innovation and a design aesthetic that is pleasing to our guests of today and tomorrow.”
