Cruise month makes a splash in Vancouver
The Star Princess by Princess Cruises is the first to arrive at the Port of Vancouver.

According to a recent press release from the Canadian Press, the Port of Vancouver expects nearly one million passengers to visit during its 2018 cruise ship season, starting today with the arrival of the Star Princess.

According to a press release taken from the Port of Vancouver's media centre, "approximately 895,000 cruise passengers on 241 vessel visits are expected in Vancouver this year, a seven per cent increase in passenger volume over 2017."

The Norwegian Bliss will arrive at the Port of Vancouver, and several new vessels will come through, including Windstar Cruises’Star Legend luxury cruise ship and the Norwegian Jewel, which will be replacing the Norwegian Sun.

Multiple cruise ships known to the industry return for another year, including Holland America, Princess Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, Regent, Disney Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, Crystal Cruises, and Silversea Cruises.

The number of cruise passengers continues to climb, with more and more demographics enjoying the benefits of cruise travel, including multigenerational travellers and millennials, who see the value in creating memories through shared experiences.

What's new for 2018
