Aurora launches new advisor program with enhanced commissions & tools
Aurora Expeditions has unveiled “Aurora Advisor Advantage,” a new suite of benefits, tools and service enhancements aimed at making it easier and more rewarding for travel advisors to sell the company's small-ship expedition voyages.
The new program was developed in response to feedback gathered from the travel advisor community over the past year and includes enhancements to commission payments, trade rates, sales resources and digital tools.
“Aurora Advisor Advantage reflects a simple commitment: to listen to our travel advisor partners and deliver what they need to succeed selling small ship expeditions,” said David Tanguay, head of global sales at Aurora Expeditions, in a press release.
“Travel advisors are at the heart of our business, playing an essential role in inspiring travelers and guiding them toward the right expedition experience. Aurora Advisor Advantage is our investment in that partnership—providing advisors with enhanced tools, greater product visibility, and more meaningful rewards, while making it easier to deliver exceptional value for both their clients and their business.”
More value for clients
As part of the initiative, Aurora Expeditions is adding new value for clients beginning with the 2026-27 Antarctic season.
Guests will receive premium beverages, including premium spirits, cocktails, beer, wine and liqueurs, included in voyage fares across the fleet at no additional cost.
The company has also introduced a no-charge flexible voyage transfer policy, allowing clients who are unable to travel after paying their deposit to move their booking to another Aurora Expeditions voyage departing within 36 months of their original departure date without paying a transfer fee (terms and conditions apply).
Revised commission model
For travel advisors, Aurora Expeditions has revised its commission payment schedule by bringing forward eligible gross commission payments to 60 days before a client's departure.
The company says the change is intended to improve advisor cash flow and recognize their work earlier in the booking process.
Aurora Insider Rates
Aurora is also introducing Aurora Insider Rates, which will allow eligible advisors, along with their friends and family, to book Aurora voyages within 120 days of departure from US$300 per person, per day, subject to availability and applicable terms and conditions.
The company has also enhanced its Travel Advisor Hub, creating a centralized platform for sales information and resources.
Dates & Rates Tool
A new Dates & Rates Tool enables advisors to view live voyage pricing across all cabin categories, check optional activity availability, and search voyages by departure date, region, season, duration, ship and price to compare options and respond to client inquiries more efficiently.
Aurora Expeditions also confirmed it is developing a new online booking portal that will allow travel advisors to book expeditions online at their convenience.
Additional details, including the launch timeline, will be announced as development continues.
“Aurora Advisor Advantage is not a one-off initiative,” Tanguay added. “It is an ongoing commitment to improving how we work with our travel agent community and ensuring advisors receive the tools, support and recognition they need to grow their expedition business with Aurora.”
