Aqua Expeditions announces New Mekong itineraries, seasonal offers

Aqua Expeditions has unveiled new Mekong River itineraries and seasonal offers across its 2026, 2027, and 2028 sailings through Cambodia and Vietnam.

The luxury expedition cruise line, which was named a Top 3 Best River Cruise Line by Travel + Leisure for three consecutive years and the #1 Cruise Line in Cruise Critic's 2025 Cruiser's Choice Awards, will introduce new routes exploring lesser-travelled stretches of the river.

Excursions include kayaking through floating villages, visiting Buddhist temples, cycling along rice fields, and connecting with local artisans, led by local naturalists. 

Year-round itineraries depart from Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh, and Siem Reap. 

During the low-water season, Aqua Mekong offers complimentary flight extensions to Siem Reap for access to Angkor Wat and surrounding temple complexes.

New itineraries

Launching in 2026, Kratie itineraries (4- and 7-night sailings: July–August) explore the Upper Mekong region, including the Kampi River, home to the endangered Irrawaddy dolphin, and Koh Trong Island. 

The journey continues to Kampong Cham, with visits to the 12th-century Angkorian temple Nokor Bachey, and guided cycling and hikes, including ascents to Phnom Hanchey.

Launching in 2027, Phat Sandai itineraries (3-, 4-, and 7-night sailings: December–February) focus on the Tonlé Sap region, with visits to the Phat Sandai floating village. 

Guests explore the waterways by kayak, visit a community-led fishery conservation initiative supported by FACT (Fisheries Action Coalition Team), hike Phnom Neang Kangrey overlooking Tonlé Sap Lake, and cycle through the Phnom Touk Meas area.

Explorers Club Expedition

In collaboration with The Explorers Club, Aqua Expeditions will host an expedition to the Mekong Delta led by researcher and conservationist Andrés Ruzo. 

Programming includes small-group discussions and hands-on workshops during the sailing. Ruzo will also join travellers for select meals and excursions.

Ruzo is a geothermal scientist, conservationist, and educator whose work explores the intersection of geoscience, culture, and conservation. 

He is the founder of the Boiling River Project, an international non-profit dedicated to protecting culturally significant geothermal systems worldwide, and an Explorers Club Fellow.

The Vietnam & Cambodia Expedition takes place April 16-23, 2027, sailing from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh aboard Aqua Mekong.

Seasonal offers

Early Bird Savings on select 2026, 2027, and 2028 departures offer 30 per cent savings on Aqua Mekong suites 101–108 for bookings made by March 31, 2026. 

The offer excludes Christmas and New Year departures, is not valid for solo travellers, and cannot be combined with other promotions (except loyalty benefits).

Solo Traveler Special on select 2026 and 2027 departures waives the single supplement fee (normally an additional 25 per cent of the fare) on select sailings in April, August, and September. 

The offer applies to suites 109 and 110, is valid for new bookings only, and must be booked by March 31, 2026. This offer cannot be combined with other promotions or loyalty benefits.

Aqua Mekong itineraries may be booked as a 3-night or 4-night sailing or combined into a continuous 7-night expedition. Guests booking the full 7-night sailing receive a 5 per cent discount.
