AmaWaterways is strengthening its regional support for travel advisors in Canada, hiring Alexandre Bergeron as a business development manager for Quebec and Atlantic Canada, PAX has learned.

Bergeron, formally a sales manager at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, will officially start his role at the luxury cruise line on July 2.

Sandra Gardiner, director of sales for Canada at AmaWaterways, confirmed the news with PAX on Wednesday (June 12).

“AmaWaterways realizes the growing demands for river cruise travel with our partners in Canada. As such, we are growing our team again with a new BDM for Quebec and Atlantic Canada,” Gardiner wrote PAX in an email.

“We are so excited about what this new addition to our AmaFamily will bring as it will allow us to continue to deliver on our existing exceptional connections and develop new relationships with those who are new to travel.”

Bergeron is already well acquainted with his territory, Gardiner shared, and he will complement Ama’s “already amazing” team of BDMs.

That team includes Shauna Carter (British Columbia, Alberta and the Yukon, Teri Recunyk (Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northern Ontario) and Neil Dudley, who is now solely dedicated to serving agents in Ontario.

“Our partners are our conduit to the consumer and we want to ensure we have a team that will be ready and available to help our partners reach their river cruise travel goals with AmaWaterways,” Gardiner said.
