Ontario-Quebec border restrictions set to end Wednesday

The ban on non-essential travel between Ontario and Quebec will end at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday (June 16), according to CBC News.

The order that has restricted non-essential travel between the two provinces began in April.

Checkpoints staffed by provincial and police have since staffed the interprovincial crossings, either issuing tickets or telling motorists to turn around if they aren’t travelling for essential reasons.

The update also marks the end of Quebec's rule requiring residents returning from Ontario to self-isolate for 14 days.

Travel restrictions between Ontario and Manitoba will also be lifted on Wednesday, the report says.
