Flair Airlines has announced the appointment of Vijay Bathija as its new chief revenue officer (CRO), joining the airline’s executive team as Flair continues its transformation under the Flair FWD program.

“Vijay combines sharp analytical instincts with a deep understanding of how airlines grow, compete, and succeed,” said Maciej Wilk, CEO of Flair, in a statement. “His experience in revenue optimization, commercial planning, and leading teams through complex market environments will be instrumental as Flair strengthens its commercial performance and enters its next stage of growth.”

Bathija brings decades of senior aviation leadership, with deep expertise in commercial strategy, network and fleet planning, revenue management, and sales.

He has worked in more than 15 countries and has helped launch two airlines at the C-suite level, in addition to serving as CEO of Canada’s largest express cargo airport and fastest-growing passenger airport.

He previously held senior executive roles at Etihad Airways and brings board-level experience, including serving as Chairman of Amadeus Gulf LLC.

Bathija will oversee network planning, fleet management, pricing, revenue management, ancillary development, and charters, the airline said.

“Flair is challenging the status quo in one of the most concentrated aviation markets in the world,” said Bathija in a press release. “I look forward to helping build a more profitable, resilient airline that continues to make travel more accessible for Canadians, all while evolving under Flair FWD.”
