Mike Foster named dir., strategic partners & shareholder at Travel Industry Solutions

Canadian travel industry leader Mike Foster has joined Travel Industry Solutions (TIS) as director of strategic partners and shareholder.

In this senior leadership position, he will play a key role in growing TIS’s footprint in Canada following its recent soft launch, while also contributing to strategic initiatives supporting the company’s global expansion.

Travel Industry Solutions is a legal and payments-risk platform for travel advisors, offering attorney-developed contracts, secure credit-card vaulting, and real-time fraud monitoring.

Based in London, ON, Foster is a travel industry executive with over 45 years of experience in developing, expanding, and mentoring high-performing agencies and advisor networks.

His career in travel began in 1981, when he was hired to launch UNIGLOBE Instant Travel, a company he would later own.

The agency was then acquired by Nexion Travel Group, where Foster served as president of Nexion Travel Group–Canada until 2024.

Foster has also been a board member of both the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors (ACTA) and the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO).

Though retired from daily operations, he continues to work as an independent travel advisor, industry writer, consultant, and investor.

He is known for practical, advisor-first insights on business strategy, client care, and the smart use of technology and AI to enhance service and profitability.

With Travel Industry Solutions, he will work with host agencies, consortia, suppliers, and other key stakeholders to strengthen adoption of TIS solutions, support advisor education, and help advance operational standards as TIS grows across markets.
