Hyatt names Eduardo Schutte to lead commercial strategy for Inclusive Collection
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has appointed Eduardo Schutte as senior vice-president, commercial, for its Inclusive Collection, a move the company says will support the next phase of growth for its all-inclusive resort business.
Schutte will assume the role on July 27, leading the commercial strategy for Hyatt's Inclusive Collection across sales, revenue management, brand, marketing, distribution and other commercial functions, according to a press release.
He will report to Javier Águila, president of Hyatt's Inclusive Collection, while working closely with Hyatt chief commercial officer Mark Vondrasek.
The appointment comes as Hyatt continues to expand its presence in the leisure and all-inclusive market, with a portfolio that now includes more than 150 resorts and nearly 58,000 rooms across Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe.
“Eduardo brings a rare combination of hospitality operating depth, sophisticated distribution expertise and enterprise-scale commercial leadership, all of which will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection,” said Javier Águila, president, Inclusive Collection, Hyatt.
“Under his leadership, I'm confident our commercial organization will reach new heights and play an even greater role in delivering on our ambition to be the world’s best all-inclusive organization.”
Schutte most recently served as chief commercial officer at Cross Border Xpress.
He brings more than three decades of experience spanning hospitality, travel technology and commercial leadership.
His previous roles include senior positions at Grupo Posadas, TravelClick, LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels, Hilton and Amadeus, where he led initiatives in sales, marketing, revenue management, distribution, pricing, strategic partnerships and business development.
Hyatt said Schutte also brings extensive experience across the Americas and expertise in hospitality distribution, digital platforms and revenue optimization.
He holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a degree in hotel management from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
Significant growth
Hyatt's Inclusive Collection has grown significantly in recent years through acquisitions, including Apple Leisure Group in 2021 and Playa Hotels & Resorts in 2025, as well as strategic partnerships such as its joint venture with Piñero to manage Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts.
The company continues to expand the collection with recently opened properties including Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa, Secrets St. Lucia Resort & Spa, Secrets Baby Beach Aruba and Secrets Mirabel Cancun Resort & Spa. Hyatt has also completed renovations at Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort and Hyatt Zilara Cancun, while additional openings—including Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana, Park Hyatt Riviera Maya and Grand Hyatt Los Cabos—are planned before the end of 2026.
