Gihana Galindo named director of Cuba Tourist Board in Toronto
The Cuba Tourist Board has appointed Gihana Galindo as its new director in Toronto, effective October 15, 2025.
She succeeds Lessner Gomez, who will return to Havana after six highly successful years leading the organization in Canada.
“The Ministry of Tourism of Cuba and the Cuba Tourist Board extend their sincere gratitude to Mr. Gomez for his outstanding leadership and commitment to strengthening Cuba’s presence in the Canadian travel market. His contributions have significantly enhanced tourism relations between the two countries,” the tourist board wrote in a press release.
Reflecting on his time in Canada, Gomez shared:
“It has been an incredible honour to represent Cuba in Canada. I am grateful for the strong partnerships and friendships built over the years with our Canadian travel partners. I have every confidence that Ms. Galindo will continue to grow these relationships and bring fresh energy to our ongoing efforts.”

Galindo brings extensive experience to her new role. For the past three years, she has served as commercial director at the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba, where she led several international initiatives to promote the island as a premier travel destination.
Her work has included close collaboration with Canadian tour operators, giving her strong familiarity with the market and its key players.
“I’m excited to continue building strong partnerships with our valued travel industry colleagues in Canada,” said Galindo in a statement. “Together, we will tackle new challenges, seize exciting opportunities, and work to increase the number of Canadians choosing Cuba as their travel destination.”
The Cuba Tourist Board looks forward to a new chapter of collaboration and continued growth under Galindo’s leadership.
