Flight Centre Canada has appointed David Gallie as country product leader, a newly-created role within the company's evolving global product structure.

Gallie brings nearly 30 years of experience across the Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) business, with leadership roles spanning retail, wholesale, product contracting, product marketing, and supplier partnerships.

He began his career with the company in the late 1990s as the first Retail Area Leader in Canada, and is a Flight Centre Hall of Fame and National Leaders Award of Excellence recipient. Most recently, he served on the senior leadership team at Envoyage Canada.

In the new role, Gallie will oversee the brand's product strategy in Canada: driving product performance, market intelligence, and consultant enablement.

He joins the Canadian executive leadership team, reporting to Anita Emilio, executive vice president and general manager, Flight Centre Canada, and Monique Van Gelder, global product leader, Flight Centre.

"This role reflects our commitment to strengthening our product offering locally," said Emilio in a statement. "David knows this market, knows our suppliers, and knows what our advisors need to succeed — that's exactly who we need leading product in Canada."

"The category-led model depends on strong alignment between global strategy and local market needs," added Van Gelder. "David's supplier relationships and understanding of the Canadian traveller will help strengthen the broader global product community."

Gallie said he's "spent decades" building relationships with the supplier community in the market. "I know where the opportunities are," he said. "My focus is on translating that into a product range our experts can sell with confidence."

Gallie's appointment is part of Flight Centre's broader move to a category-led product structure across its global markets — spanning Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the U.K., and South Africa.
