WestJet does it again
WestJet has posted its third annual holiday video, showing how a snowy Canadian Christmas came to a community in the Dominican Republic.
The new video, titled WestJet Christmas Miracle: Spirit of Giving, follows the journey of the airline’s Blue Santa to the Puerto Plata community of Nuevo Renacer, bringing some holiday cheer to children and families with a little help from WestJet employees. In November, 20 WestJet staff members travelled to Nuevo Renacer to work alongside Live Different (a Canadian charity that works with volunteers on development projects abroad) and 40 local residents to secretly create the video, using hidden cameras to capture the experience.
Since 2012, WestJet and Live Different have built 23 homes for families living in extreme poverty in Nuevo Renacer, one of four destinations WestJet serves in the Dominican Republic.
