United flights temporarily grounded in U.S.

All United Airlines flights in the U.S. were grounded for almost two hours Wednesday morning, due to what the carrier described as “automation issues.”

The CBC reported that at several major U.S. airports, boards displaying the airline’s departures and arrivals were blank, while staff resorted to pens and paper to check in passengers.

A similar incident, also attributed to “automation issues,” grounded United flights in the U.S. on June 2 for less than an hour, the report said.
