Toronto agency facing TICO charges

A Toronto-based agency and one of its employees are facing charges under Ontario’s Travel Industry Act.

According to TICO, Thaneshkanth Sivaganasundaram and 99 Travel and Tours Inc. have each been charged with one count of operating as a travel agent without registration, contrary to the Travel Industry Act.

99 Travel operated in Toronto and elsewhere in Ontario and was a travel agent registered under the Act, until its registration was revoked effective June 11, 2014. Sivaganasundaram was a director and officer of 99 Travel.

A first court appearance is scheduled for July 30 in Toronto.
