Sunwing hikes seat selection & carry-on fees
Sunwing’s ancillary prices are going up, starting September 9, 2024.
The prices for standard and preferred seat selection are increasing nominally by $5 each. Standard seat selection will soon cost passengers $25, while preferred is $35.
Elite Plus is increasing by $10 for pre-purchase, coming in at $60. But if purchased at airport check-in, it will cost $75.
Carry-on baggage remains unchanged at $25 if pre-purchased. But this will now cost $30 if purchased at check-in.
All of the price changes will take effect for new Sunwing bookings made from September 9 onward, Sunwing confirmed in an email to PAX.
Sunwing gets ready for winter
The update comes on the heels of Sunwing releasing its 2024-25 winter schedule, which features flights from 24 airports across Canada to 27 sun destinations.
Among the destinations are three additions — Tulum, Camaguey-Santa Lucia and San Andrés — which customers can explore via direct flights from Toronto and Montreal.
“As the leading vacation provider in the country, our commitment to providing travel advisors and their clients with accessible, affordable vacation options has remained steadfast, and we are thrilled to introduce our initial winter lineup featuring more of the destinations our customers know and love, plus the exciting new additions of Tulum, Camaguey-Santa Lucia and San Andrés, with direct flights starting as early as Nov. 2,” said Andrew Dawson, president of Sunwing Vacations Group, in an earlier statement.
“We continue to see a growing demand for sun vacations, particularly for winter travel, and early bookings are already outpacing last year’s early booking figures.”
