SkyGreece: claims to be filed through trustee

Following its bankruptcy filing earlier this month, SkyGreece Airlines is directing passengers seeking compensation to file claims through its trustee, as the airline works toward resuming service.

Last Friday, the airline issued a statement through trustee Ernst & Young, advising passengers to file a claim through a website set up by the trustee, which notes “at this time, SkyGreece is unable to reimburse passengers for the cost of these alternate arrangements, but intends to address these costs through its restructuring plan."

The statement also advises that while SkyGreece is “working to rebuild and resume services,” the “success of the company’s (SkyGreece’s) restructuring effort cannot be assured.”

Hundreds of passengers were stranded in Canada and Europe after the airline suddenly announced a temporary halt to services in late August.
