Sandals halts resort conversion

The Montego Bay-based Sandals Carlyle will remain a Sandals branded resort following consultation with guests, the company has announced.

The resort was previously scheduled to be converted to the Grand Pineapple Beach brand but the decision was reversed after the company’s returning guests weighed in on the matter. The resort currently boasts one of the highest returning guest percentages in the region, said Sandals in a press release.

Following the announcement, the resort - one of the company’s original acquisitions in 1985 - will undergo a series of minor enhancements.
