Porter Airlines on Thursday (April 11) launched its new service between Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Montreal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL). The route marks Porter’s first Western Canada destination from Montreal.

All passengers will experience Porter’s genuine hospitality and elevated onboard service, including free Wi-Fi, premium snacks, and free beer and wine served in glassware.

Priority check-in, extra legroom seats, premium pre-mixed cocktails, and fresh, healthy meals are also available with the all-inclusive PorterReserve fares or purchased à la carte with PorterClassic fares.

The new route begins with one daily roundtrip flight operated with Porter’s132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The two-by-two configuration means there are no middle seats on any Porter flight.

The scheduled service offers a variety of connections to Eastern Canada via YUL, including Halifax, Toronto-Pearson and Toronto-City, complementing existing daily non-stop service between Toronto-Pearson and Ottawa to Vancouver.

Porter’s codeshare partnership with Air Transat provides convenient connections from YUL throughout Europe, to destinations like Paris and London

Service from Montreal to Edmonton and Calgary begins later this spring. With the launch of the three new western destinations, Porter will operate eight non-stop routes out of Montreal.

“Our presence in Montréal is continuing to grow directly through new Porter service and with our strategic airline partnerships. Our first western route from Montréal will take Porter’s elevated economy service to even more passengers across Canada and the globe," stated Kevin Jackson, president of Porter Airlines, in a press release.
