Porter adds Turks and Caicos flights from Toronto & Ottawa, Hamilton-Tampa
(Porter Airlines)

Porter Airlines is adding Turks and Caicos to its winter sun network, with new non-stop service to Providenciales from Toronto Pearson and Ottawa.

Flights from Toronto Pearson will operate five times weekly beginning Nov. 6. Ottawa service will operate twice weekly beginning Dec. 17.

Turks and Caicos is the fifth new sun destination added to Porter’s winter seasonal network, joining recently announced service to Aruba, San José, Costa Rica, Montego Bay and Los Cabos.

The new routes are in addition to Porter’s existing sun service to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Grand Cayman and Liberia.

"Porter is focused on delivering what passengers truly want–more destinations and a distinctly elevated economy experience. Travelling with Porter is designed to put passengers at ease, thanks to our signature service and genuine hospitality," said Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting, Porter Airlines.

The announcement follows news that BermudAir will also operate flights from Toronto Pearson to Turks and Caicos, with service onward to Anguilla.

New Hamilton-Tampa route

Porter is also adding a new route between Hamilton International Airport and Tampa, Florida, beginning Dec. 18.

The Hamilton-Tampa route will operate four times weekly and marks Porter’s third Florida destination from Hamilton, joining Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.

“The addition of Tampa strengthens our growing Florida and sun destination network and reflects our shared commitment to providing Southern Ontario travellers with more choice and an easy, convenient travel experience,” said Peter Tong, CEO, TradePort International Corporation.

Michael Stephens, CEO of Tampa International Airport, said the new route will strengthen connections between Tampa Bay and Ontario.

"As Porter’s first route to this destination from Tampa International Airport, this service will strengthen connections between our regions, bringing more Canadian visitors to Tampa Bay while providing local travelers with a convenient new option for reaching Ontario,” said Stephens.

The new routes will be operated on Porter’s 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which features no middle seats.

Passengers receive complimentary wine and beer served in glassware, premium snacks and free high-speed Wi-Fi.

PorterReserve passengers receive additional benefits such as priority check-in, extra legroom and fresh meals. These features can also be purchased à la carte with PorterClassic fares.
