NewLeaf Travel reveals routes, pricing

Canadian ultra-low cost carrier NewLeaf Travel will offer fares starting at $89 to seven Canadian cities as of Feb. 12, the start-up airline announced this morning.

During media events at NewLeaf's headquarters at Winnipeg's Richardson International Airport, as well as Kelowna, BC and Hamilton, Ontario (the airline's two other main centres of operation), NewLeaf revealed that non-stop flights will be available to seven cities including Halifax, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Kelowna and Abbotsford.

“Most of our main routes feature non-stop flights that aren’t currently offered,” said Jim Young, president and CEO of NewLeaf Travel. “The ultra-low-cost business model we’re using has proven successful around the world, and we’re excited to bring it to Canada.”

As part of the low-cost model, NewLeaf Travel will enable customers to customize their travel experience by purchasing, among other things, priority boarding, on-board drinks, snacks, carry-on and checked baggage.

Flights booked through NewLeaf Travel will be operated by Flair Airlines Ltd., a Canadian-based airline in business since 2003 with experienced crew and pilots that fly Boeing 737-‐400 passenger jets.
