NewLeaf to call Winnipeg home

Incoming ultra low-cost carrier NewLeaf Travel Company, Inc. will be headquartered in Winnipeg.

According to a statement by the company, which expects to launch its services in the near future, Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport was chosen after a 'thorough review of the attributes, costs and benefits of various airport community options.' As a result, New Leaf anticipates the creation of more than 750 new jobs in the city as the operation nears maturity.

In partnership with Kelowna-based Flair Airlines, NewLeaf plans to offer scheduled non-stop flights from its bases in Kelowna, Winnipeg and Hamilton to multiple domestic and international destinations, as well as vacation packages offering flights, hotel accommodations, car rentals, ground transportation and entertainment.
