Montreal to Reykjavík & Dakar: Air Transat inaugurates two new routes

Air Transat has launched two new routes connecting Montreal–Trudeau airport to Reykjavík, Iceland, and Dakar, Senegal.

The Montreal (YUL) to Dakar (DSS) route was inaugurated Wednesday night (June 17) with flight TS722. It will be operated up to twice weekly until October 18, 2026.

Meanwhile, service between Montreal (YUL) and Reykjavík (KEF) kicked off on June 16 (TS772) and will be offered up to twice weekly until September 20, 2026.

“These two launches mark an important milestone in the diversification of our network and reflect our ambition to open new doors to the world,” said Sebastian Ponce, chief revenue officer at Transat.

“With Dakar, we are pioneers, becoming the first airline to offer a direct connection between Canada and Sub-Saharan Africa. With Reykjavík, we are making it easier to access a spectacular, high-demand destination, where nature and landscapes become a true travel experience. These new routes create opportunities for discovery and strengthen already vibrant ties between communities.”

These two new routes are part of Air Transat’s Summer 2026 program, its most extensive ever.

The program notably includes the addition of eight new routes, as well as the year-round operation of certain services and increased frequencies on key destinations, demonstrating the carrier’s commitment to expanding its network and offering even more choice and flexibility to its customers.
