Montreal-Casablanca among new AC rouge flights

Air Canada has announced its first route to Africa along with new flights to four major European cities, as part of a major summer schedule expansion for 2016.

Next June, the airline will introduce service on Air Canada rouge from Montreal to Casablanca, Morocco, the only service to North Africa offered by a North American carrier; the new route will also see Air Canada become one of only a dozen airlines in the world that serve six continents. In addition, new rouge flights from Toronto will connect travellers with Prague, Budapest, Glasgow and Warsaw.

All flights will be flown using a 280-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft offering a choice of premium and economy cabins.

Details for the new routes include:

• Toronto-Prague: service runs May 29 - Sept. 29, 2016 with flight AC1922 and operates three times weekly. Departs Toronto at 4:55 p.m.on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving in Prague at 7:20 a.m. the next day. Return flight AC1923 departs Prague at 9:30 a.m. and arrives in Toronto at 12:40 p.m. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

• Montreal-Casablanca: service runs June 3 - Oct. 17, 2016 with flight AC1936 and operates four times weekly, subject to obtaining the necessary government approvals. Departs Montreal at 9:40 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving in Casablanca at 10 a.m. the next day. Return flight AC1937 departs Casablanca at 11:55 a.m. and arrives in Montreal at 2:45 p.m.on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

• Toronto-Budapest: service runs June 10 - Oct. 15, 2016 with flight AC1910 and operates three times weekly. Departs Toronto at 10:35 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, arriving in Budapest 1:35 p.m. the next day. Return flight AC1911 departs Budapest at 3:05 p.m. and arrives in Toronto at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

• Toronto-Glasgow: service runs June 13 - Sept. 25, 2016 with flight AC1938 and operates three times weekly. Departs Toronto at 6:55 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, arriving in Glasgow at 6:40 a.m. the next day. Return flight AC1939 departs Glasgow at 8:25 a.m. and arrives in Toronto 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

• Toronto-Warsaw: service runs June 16 - Sept. 30, 2016 with flight AC1926 and operates three times weekly. Departs Toronto at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, arriving in Warsaw at 9:30 a.m. the next day. Return flight AC1927 departs Warsaw at 11 a.m. and arrives Toronto 2:50 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
