Lufthansa strike on hold
The cabin crew union UFO has said it will cancel the walkouts at Lufthansa previously planned for Nov. 26, 27 and 29, according to the Associated Press.
The union was on strike for the week of Nov. 13, resulting in the cancellation of roughly 4,700 flights.
The union, which represents flight attendants for Germany’s flagship airline, Lufthansa, announced it would withhold the strike in favour of further negotiations with the company, and that talks are expected to take at a jobs summit with the airline on Dec. 2.
The labor dispute is a result of Lufthansa’s recent move to cut costs amid competition among Gulf state airlines.
