Jazz flight dispatchers ratify three-year labour agreement

Jazz Aviation’s flight dispatchers have ratified a new three-year collective agreement, the airline announced Monday (Aug. 10).

The agreement was reached with the Canadian Airline Dispatchers Association (CALDA) on July 28 and includes wage increases and other enhancements. 

Jazz described the wage increases as industry competitive.

The ratification follows several months of labour negotiations. 

In June, Jazz flight dispatchers voted 96.4 per cent in favour of authorizing strike action.

Of the 59 members eligible to participate in the vote, 56 cast ballots and 54 supported the strike mandate.

The dispatchers had been working without a collective agreement since Jan. 1, 2026, when their previous 10-year contract expired.

CALDA previously said members were seeking wage adjustments to restore purchasing power lost over the past decade as pay failed to keep pace with inflation and the rising cost of living.

Jazz flight dispatchers support the operation of approximately 400 daily flights on behalf of Air Canada under the Air Canada Express brand.
