Japan breaks records for Canadian visitation

Japan welcomed a record number of Canadian travellers in 2015, marking an increase of 26.6 per cent over last year.

The Japan National Tourism Organization announced that in 2015, the country saw 231,423 Canadian visitors, the highest number so far and the first time the statistic has surpassed 200,000 annual Canadian visits.

A record number of Canadian travellers was also marked for the month of December, when Japan welcomed 22,000 Canadians, up 24.3 per cent from the same time in 2014 and the highest monthly figure posted for 2015.
