Goway presents 'The Kiwis are coming!'

Travel partners from across New Zealand joined Goway, Tourism New Zealand and Air New Zealand, for their “The Kiwis Are Coming” event, intent on helping guests plan their “trip of a lifetime.”

“We love our Canadian visitors,” said Carolyn Pope, trade development executive, Tourism New Zealand, noting that Canadian visitors stay on average 21.5 days visiting the country, compared to U.S. visitors at 13 days.

Featured operators at the event included InterCity Group, TIME Unlimited Tours, Hobbiton Movie Set, Te Puia, Art Deco Trust, Potiki Adventures, Accor Hotels, The Helicopter Line, Nomad Safaris, The Rees Hotel Queenstown, Edgewater Lake Wanaka and Southern Discoveries.

Air New Zealand offers 26 domestic destinations and features a four class luxury service: Business Premier, Premium Economy, Economy and Skycouch, which is also referred to as “Spooning Class” due to the position couples tend to take when travelling in this class.

“The longest flight in New Zealand is an hour and a half,” Pope said.

New Zealand’s diverse landscape features mountains, active volcanoes, deep fjords, rugged coastlines, lakes, streams and beaches, mudpools, geysers and the unique Maori culture.

Pope also spoke about some of New Zealand’s unique offerings, such as world class wineries so abundant visitors are never more than 40 minutes away from one, golf courses to rival Scotland, food that is almost always farm-to-table and nature excursions, water adventures and Lord of the Rings tours.

Goway’s Downunder brochure offers over 450 independent and escorted travel ideas for New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific Islands. Travel ideas include locally escorted touring, holidays of a lifetime, self-drive itineraries, rail experiences, boutique cruising, city stopovers, stays of distinction and snowbird longstays.

The latest Hot Deal saves $100 per person when booking an Air New Zealand airfare in conjunction with land or touring arrangements. Featured Hot Deals were Goway’s nine-day Auckland and Queenstown package ($2,499 from Toronto) and its 10-day New Zealand Reflections package ($3199 from Toronto), with prices applicable for bookings by Oct. 28, 2015.

Goway also offers agents incentives as well as the opportunity to become trained in their New Zealand products, with all information available on their website.

The evening ended with a prize draw for a bottle of New Zealand wine and a Maori farewell.
