Goway adds Asia to Sell Downunder Months

Goway Travel is once again celebrating its annual Sell Downunder Months promotion, with a new twist for 2015.

This year, the promotion will include Asia alongside Goway’s popular South Pacific destinations including Australia and New Zealand, expanding on the program which is now in its fourth year.

“We’ve changed it up this year so it’s really South Pacific & Asia months,” said Aubrey Schmidt, business development manager for Goway. “I think they pair up great; you get travellers who will do both, like skipping over to Thailand from Australia, because they’re in the same corner of the globe.”

The popular promotion will once again offer agents a number of incentives, including a $25 booking bonus on packages to Asian and South Pacific destinations, as well as the chance for agents to win a trip to Fiji.

For agents with clients looking for long-stay travel packages, Goway is currently offering a 28-day Australia package for just over $4,000. While many travellers will head south to destinations like Florida to escape winter, the Canadian and Australian dollars are close to being on par, a factor which may make South Pacific travel a more enticing option this year, Schmidt said. With the snowbird market in mind, the package also includes free medical coverage, he added.

Schmidt said that while bookings to the South Pacific are cyclical, the coming winter travel season is shaping up to be one of the strongest in recent years for Goway.

“This is our big booking period and I found this year, it’s going to be a strong one,” Schmidt said. “I’ve already had agents asking for assistance with bookings to the region.”
