Go Global Expo comes to Toronto and Montreal

An upcoming event with stops in Toronto and Montreal will connect travellers and travel professionals with organizations carrying out volunteer, study and work opportunities overseas.
The 2014 Go Global Expo comes to Ryerson University’s Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto on Sept. 20 and 21, followed by a stop at Montreal’s Palais de Congres on Sept. 27. A third event is also scheduled for Boston on Sept. 28.
Presented by Verge Magazine, all three events are free to attend and will provide visitors with opportunities to learn more about such opportunities available around the world. Verge co-founder Jeff Minthorn told PAX that he is expecting approximately 5,000 to attend the Toronto event.
“As interest in these sorts of opportunities grows, it’s a good way for people to get a handle on what’s going on,” he said.
The event is open to everyone and there are plenty of networking opportunities available for travel professionals, said event promotions manager Jessica Lockhart, with numerous organizations on-hand and seminars taking place throughout the Expo.
She added that in addition to students seeking study and volunteer opportunities, many families and working professionals in search of similar experiences attend the Expo each year.
Keynote speakers include Skate4Cancer founder Rob Dyer in Toronto, and social entrepreneur and adventurer Geoff Green in Montreal.
