Flair now offering digital meal vouchers during delays
Flair Airlines has introduced digital meal vouchers across its network thanks to a new partnership with iCoupon, a company that provides vouchering solutions.
According to a press release, the low-cost carrier will implement iCoupon’s software, which allows the airline to transfer meal vouchers directly to passengers’ boarding passes in the event of a disruption.
The agreement adds another North American partner to iCoupon’s portfolio and comes on the heels of recent changes in Canadian air passenger rights legislation, which tightens airlines’ obligations to care for passengers when disruptions hit.
Following a successful trial period with Flair in May, the contract between Flair and iCoupon started Sept. 1 and is now live.
“By offering passengers easy-to-use vouchers through iCoupon, we can make any disruptions to their travel more seamless, convenient, and flexible,” said Leena Lalli, director of customer support at Flair Airlines, in a statement.
“This partnership allows us to go beyond compliance with regulations and focus on creating a more positive experience for passengers, even in challenging situations.”
Richard Bye, CEO of iCoupon, said the partnership reinforces his company’s ability to support passengers at airlines of all sizes.
“Working with Flair aligns with our mission to provide effective solutions that improve the travel experience, particularly during disruptions,” Bye said in a statement.
“We recognize the growing demand for technologies that streamline operations and enhance passenger support, and we are proud to play a role in this important evolution with Flair.”
